Midi-Pyrenees, Southwest France

With an area of 45,348 km², Midi-Pyrenees is the largest of Metropolitan France’s 22 regions. It is larger than Denmark or the Netherlands. To the south Midi-Pyrenees extends to the Pyrenees Mountains, and borders Spain. In the northeast it touches the Massif Central, and westward, it opens to the Aquitaine region along the Atlantic Ocean. To the east, it looks towards the Mediterranean Sea.

Toulouse, the regional capital, is an hour from Paris by plane, 240 km from Bordeaux and 390 km from Barcelona by car. Metropolitan Toulouse has the highest growth rate in France.
